In Cambodia, there are many families who have lost family members to HIV/AIDS and many children live without their parents. Many of the children are infected as well and have difficulties receiving the health care they need. While the decrease in HIV/AIDS in the past years can be considered a success, the prevalence rate is still about 0.8% and the people suffering from the disease and the difficulties it creates.

In Cambodia, the society believes in Karma and many infected individuals face discrimination and struggle to receive equal rights. Disabled or people infected with HIV/AIDS are often "locked away" and receive hardly any support from their communities or families. When you commit to the volunteer with the HIV/AIDS project in Cambodia, you can help to serve these people, mainly children in community centers or orphanages, or in the village by rising awareness, improving their access to social services, or by simply giving them a smile while listening to their challenges or supporting them with their daily lives.

Role of Volunteer
