Discover Ecuador in your free time!

When you join  our program in Ecuador, you will have enough time to travel. You can expect to volunteer an average of 5 hours per day, Monday- Friday. That leaves your afternoons, evenings, and weekends totally free to explore this exciting new country!

What you’ll do in your free time from your Ecuador volunteer program depends on what location you end up in.

Quito

Most of our volunteer projects are located in Quito, a city at 10,000 feet and surrounded by the Andes mountains. Built in the 1500’s, the city retains its charming historical architecture. A great city to explore, you’ll find colorful markets, cultural offerings, or ride the cable car for a spectacular view.

Quito is the perfect home base for weekend adventures. Take off and discover new areas of Ecuador! Trek up the Andes, hop a plane to the Galapagos Islands, go rafting down a river on a relaxing tube, visit an icy volcano, and more!

San Cristobal Island, Galapagos

During your volunteer program in Galapagos, Ecuador, you’ll have the chance to explore this beautiful and unique island. Go to beautiful beaches, hike, and experience once-in-a-lifetime wildlife viewing. You’ll see marine iguanas, sea lions, and an astonishing array of unique bird species.

Los Cedros Biological Preserve

At this project you’ll get one day free a week. Hike in the surrounding area, savoring the spectacular natural setting, and experience the peace and serenity of being away from it all. Try your hand at landscape photography, catalogue interesting species you come across, and enjoy time well spent in the Andes cloud forest.
