Volunteer in Asia

Asia is the world's largest and most populous continent. Chiefly in the eastern and northern hemispheres, Asia is traditionally defined as part of the landmass known as Africa-Eurasia - with the western portion of the latter occupied by Europe - lying east of the Suez Canal, east of the Ural Mountains, and south of the Caucasus Mountains and the Caspian and Black Seas. Asia is bounded to the east by the Pacific Ocean, to the south by the Indian Ocean, and to the north by the Arctic Ocean.

Presently, Global Crossroad offers volunteer programs in Asia in the countries of Nepal, India, China, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Tibet.  Global Crossroad is currently in the process of expanding it volunteering opportunities in Asia by adding even more countries and programs. Our volunteer programs in Asia are comprised of 2-3 phases.

First Phase: in Nepal, India, Thailand, Tibet and Sri Lanka, our Asia volunteer programs begin with a week-long language and cultural immersion program. This program is comprised of local language lessons, extensive orientation, and 1-2 days of travel. The program's basic aim is to offer orientation covering the country, its culture, and ways of life prior to volunteering program in Asia.

Second Phase: the second phase of the volunteering program in Asia is comprised of working in a volunteer service project. Volunteers working in Asia can choose to work in a variety of community service projects including: working in an orphanage, teaching English, HIV/AIDS program, NGOs, etc.

Third Phase: the Asia volunteering program in Nepal, Thailand and India also features optional opportunities of travel explorations, ranging in durations of 3-11 days. Global Crossroad currently offers these exciting expeditions in Nepal , India and Thailand - along with our Asia volunteer programs - at a discounted rate exclusively to participants volunteering in our Asia programs.
