Arrangement of Room, Food, and Supervision

When you volunteer abroad in Kenya, you will likely stay with a host family. This is an amazing opportunity to really become immersed in the local culture.

Your host family will have had past experience hosting international volunteers and have been hand selected by Global Crossroad. You will reside in a safe area and within easy access to your chosen volunteer project in Kenya.

Your weekly program fee includes three home cooked traditional meals a day. Staples in the Kenyan diet include corn, potatoes, beans, flat bread, coconut curry, and meat.

You will dine with your host family. Traditional dishes vary depending on what part of the country you are staying in though.
