Arrangement of Room, Food, and Supervision

During your volunteer abroad in Guatemala adventure, you will most likely reside with a host family. Living with a host family in Guatemala is a unique and special experience that affords you the opportunity to become fully immersed in the culture, traditional way of life, and language.

Your host family will have had experience hosting international volunteers and have been carefully selected by Global Crossroad.

As part of your weekly program fee, you will enjoy three healthy and traditional home cooked meals with your host family every day. There will also be restaurants nearby should you want to indulge a bit and try out some local fare.

While you are volunteering in Guatemala, you will have 24/7 support from an in-country coordinator. You will be able to get in touch with your in-country coordinator day or night via phone or email.

Your in-country coordinator will also personally check in with you every two weeks or so to ensure that everything is going perfectly with your homestay, volunteer program, and overall experience in Guatemala.
