Internship in Uganda

Global Crossroad organizes various internships in Uganda for international students. Internship in Uganda is organized in collaboration with our local partners in Uganda and include (but are not limited to):

Healthcare
Public Health Campaigns
Teaching
HIV/AIDS
Orphanage

Within the Uganda internship program, interns participate and contribute to daily project activities. In most cases, interns develop an essay in a particular area of interest by working closely with Global Crossroad's in-country staff members. Generally, the director of the chosen project serves as a supervisor/mentor for the participating intern. Interns usually stay with host families residing near the enrolled project. Usually, the director of the project works with the intern – helping to successfully complete their field report while simultaneously monitoring their progress and providing advice. Interns are advised to contact Global Crossroad in the event that any assistance is needed in locating information and materials for the internship program(s).

In order to get the most out of your internship position in Uganda , Global Crossroad recommends interns to take one week of our Language and Cultural Immersion program. From past experience, we found that the number one difficulty facing interns' ability to learn and adapt to their internship often occurs from miscommunication, i.e. language. These Language and Culture programs provide interns with a necessary, comprehensive start in exploring the everyday issues facing Uganda . Furthermore, it is possible to organize extra tutorials with experts in particular areas for additional fees. Global Crossroad suggests that you correspond with us if you have special needs for your internship.
