| Global
Crossroad would like to express
its heartfelt gratitude to volunteers
who have joined our Sri Lanka
Tsunami Construction Project
and have selflessly devoted
their time, energy, and resources
to one of today’s most
noble causes—serving the
survivors of one of the world’s
most devastating natural disasters.
Incredibly,
some Global Crossroad volunteers
were able to make additional
contributions to the surviving
families of the Dec. 26 tsunami
by donating money to purchase
land and supply other needs
in the rebuilding effort. Global
Crossroad gratefully acknowledges
the generosity of the following
volunteers who presented additional
monetary gifts after giving
us their time and labor on the
field. Your hard-earned money,
which you have donated to the
tsunami cause, will always be
remembered by the families who
will be presented a new home
and new hope for the future.

Frank Walker,
USA
$10,400 (USD)
We sincerely thank Frank Walker
of the United States for adopting
two Sri Lankan families by donating
money that bought land, built
a home, and provided additional
gifts for the occupants to be
able to begin a new life.

Brian Cheater,
UK
$5,000 (USD)
Global Crossroad
is grateful for the generous
support of John Cheater of the
United Kingdom. Mr. Cheater,
his family, and his friends
donated US$5000 to purchase
the materials for two houses
at Bataduwa. He also donated
RS 40,000 ($400) to the land
bank fund.

Fiona
O’ Connor, Ireland
$3,660 (USD)
Global Crossroad
is grateful to Fiona O’Connor
of Ireland who collected funds
from several sources in her
home country to support the
cause of those devastated by
the tsunami. Her fund-raising
efforts will provide so much
to hurting families in Sri Lanka.

Amanda
Onions, Birmingham, UK
$3,000 (USD)
We are grateful
for the generous donation made
by Amanda Onions of the UK during
her short stay as a volunteer
in Sri Lanka. We know very well
that you had a real picture
of the situation among the destitute
families along Sri Lanka’s
coastline. Global Crossroad
will never forget all what you
have done in your short stay
with us to make this program
a reality.

Elizabeth
L. Rives, Washington, D.C.,
USA
$3,000 (USD)
The hard-earned
money donated by Elizabeth L.
Rives of the United States will
be appreciated by the families
who will live in the new homes
built by hard-working Global
Crossroad volunteers. We sincerely
thank you with our whole heart.

Donala
Clifton Cross, Canada
1500 (CAD)
Donation collected from the
Ross Ford Elementary, Westglen,
and Didsbury High schools
Global Crossroad
has much admiration for Mr.
Cross and his daughter who worked
together to support those devastated
by the tsunami. Together, they
collected donations from schools
and others in their home area
to give to those in need in
Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan people
deeply appreciate these schools
for their generosity.
Volunteers
donate computer

Ridma Kalansuriya
proudly displays her new computer,
purchased by generous donations
of Global Crossroad volunteers
to Sri Lanka. It's an IBM Pentium
III computer with 50 gigs of
space on two hard drives, a
rewritable CD drive, a 56k modem,
speakers, software package,
a color printer, an uninterrupted
power supply, an Internet access
account, and a one-year comprehensive
warranty with customer/technical
support.
The looks
of joy on Ridma’s face,
and on the faces of her family,
when she first turned on the
new computer were priceless.
Ridma plans to use the computer
in her quest to become a doctor,
and promises to teach her brother,
sister, and cousins how to use
it to help in their educations
as well.
Thanks to
Dave Skurky for providing a
telephone line and Internet
service for Ridma. Thanks to
Inka, Bilal, and Dave Skurky
for providing funds to complete
the installation of the best
electrical components, lights,
and ceiling fans in the new
Kalansuriya home that Global
Crossroad volunteers so willingly
helped to build.
Thanks to
all of you for your friendship,
inspiration, and all the efforts
that have brought so much hope
to people who were devastated
by the tragic events of Dec.
26. I'd be very interested in
receiving any news and updates
from all present
and future endeavors (through
Global Crossroad and individually)
to help the people of Sri Lanka.
God
Bless You All,
Todd Shea, USA
