Explore lush tropical islands, palm-fringed beaches, coral reefs teeming with colorful marine life, picturesque fishing villages and a remote national park. The program gives you the option to explore not only the underwater world, along the southern coastline, but also in the favorite diving spots of Ko Tao and the remote waters of the Angthong National Marine Park.

Proposed Itinerary

Participants should meet ETC at least one day prior to departure day for orientation of the program.

Day 1 - Bangkok – Chumporn (-/-/-)

Morning transfer to the railway station for the air-conditioned day train to Chumphon, departing at approximately 07:45 hrs. Arrive Chumporn at approximately 14:15 hrs. and then transfer to Chumporn Cabana Resort & Diving Center for overnight. The resort is famous for its environmentally-friendly tourist concepts, and offers various optional activities including a tour around the resort’s organic farm, nightly boat trips for squid catching or to see amazing clusters of fire flies.

Remark:
We offer at the same price the option to travel by overnight train. Then you will travel a day earlier and be in Chumporn on Day 1 in the early morning. Check in time is still at 12.00 hrs.

Day 2 - Chumporn (B/L/-)

A free day; choose your own activities according to your own budget and preferences.
Suggestion: A boat trip to explore the underwater world of Ko Ngam Yai, Ko Ngam Noi and the swallow bird’s nest concessions in the islands.

Day 3 - Chumporn / Ko Tao (B/-/-)

Transfer to the pier for the boat to Ko Tao. Arrive at about 10.00 and check in to the bungalow accommodation. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 4-5 - Ko Tao (B/-/-)

A free day, choose your own optional activities according to your own budget and preferences.
Suggestion: you may join a trip to Ko Nang Yuan for snorkeling and exploring the coral close off the beaches while divers can take some day-time dives and should try to get at least 1 night dive.

Day 6 - Ko Tao / Samui (B/-/-)

Transfer to the pier for the ferry to Ko Samui via Ko Pha-Ngan. Upon arrival in Ko Samui, transfer to the resort for overnight.

Day 7 - Angthong National Marine Park (B/L/-)

Morning transfer to the pier for the speed boat to Angthong National Marine Park. Enjoy the scenery of the more than 40 islands in the Gulf of Thailand. Stops will be made for snorkeling and also at Ko Mae-Ko for a stunning view of the inland lake before continuing to Ko Wua-Ta-Lap, for lunch and then return to Ko Samui.

The island offers excellent opportunity to explore the expansive coral reefs, canoe along the coast, trek up into the hills for scenic view points and cave exploration, or just swim in its crystal-clear blue waters.

The option of overnight on the island at the national park is available upon request.

Day 8 - Ko Samui (-/-/-)

At leisure to relax on the fine white sandy beach or visit the beautiful waterfalls of the island.

Day 9: Samui (B/-/-)

End of services after breakfast.

Remark A supplement for high season and/or compulsory dinners will be advised at the time of booking, where applicable (normally during Christmas, New Year and Thai New Year 12-15 April periods.

Thailand Travel program begins from a designated place. Your volunteer and travel program fee does not cover the transportation from your project/hostel/host family to the travel start point. Thus, it is your responsibility to arrive at the right place at the right time and to return to your project. The exact address of your travel starting point will be given to you in Thailand.

Services included in the price:

• Transfers in Bangkok and Ko Samui by air-conditioned transport. Non air-conditioned transportation or pick up truck for round-trip transfer in Ko Tao.
• Hotel accommodation throughout the tour is based on 2 persons in twin-bedded room on B/B basis. Accommodation in Chumporn & Samui is air-conditioned, with fanned room in Ko Tao. All rooms are with attached bath and toilet.
• 2nd class air-conditioned day train (or night train with sleeping berth) from Bangkok to Chumporn.
• Ferry crossing Chumporn – Ko Tao, Ko Tao – Ko Samui.
• Park entrance fee at Angthong National park
• Meals as specified in the program.
• Services of an English-speaking guide only during the boat trips
