Arrival Information
All participants should arrive at the Valencia International Airport (VLC).
Transfer from Airport to Host Family/Hostel/Hotel
Valencia has a metro train system as the city's primary form of public transportation - accessing various parts of the city. Global Crossroad provides airport pick-up and a transfer service - transferring participants to their respective living accommodations. NOTE: We DO NOT offer airport drop-off services - participants are responsible for arranging their own return transportation once the program has commenced. Teachers are required to provide their flight information prior to arrival in Valencia .
How can I contact the school if I arrive before the start of the TEFL program?
In the event that participants arrive before the proposed start date, they are advised to remain in a suggested hotel where they will then call our offices. This information, such as the address and telephone numbers of our Valencia partner's office, will be included in the final placement details provided in the supplied pre-departure booklet
Living Accommodations/Meals
Accommodations are not provided by Global Crossroad. However, rooms can be arranged in nearby guesthouses by our in-country support staff. These moderate accommodations are all clean, air-conditioned, near local attractions and amenities, and very reasonably priced (between 200-400 Euros a month depending on the size and). Accommodations in Valencia are usually within a shared apartment with other TEFL participants. Other housing options available to participants are within a hostel - usually running between 15-30 Euro/night. Valencia offers a myriad of restaurants serving a variety of world-class fare. Meals are the responsibility of participants.
Valencia 's local cuisine consists of numerous Mediterranean influences. One of the most ever-present dishes famous in Valencia (as well as throughout most of Spain) is "tapas" - an appetizer often accompanying drinks and often ranging from simple finger foods such as french fries and various cheeses to fried squid. Other popular dishes include Valencia 's world famous "paella" - a rice dish with a variety of either seafood or vegetables. The delicious cuisine of Valencia also often contains notable seafood and fish dishes as well as a variety of wonderful local fruits (i.e. Valencian oranges, mandarins and lemons).

Climate
Valencia has a typically Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild winters with the rainy seasons usually occurring in spring and autumn. Higher altitude regions do occasionally experience both snow and freezing temperatures, yet most regions enjoy significantly pleasant temperatures year-round with temperatures rarely falling below 55 ºF.
