Environmental Projects

Deforestation is a major problem challenging the forest ecosystem of Tanzania . With growing demand for energy in Tanzania , the rate of deforestation is likely to accelerate other ecological/environmental problems.

The situation necessities the government to encourage its institutions, community-based organizations (CBOs) as well as individuals to salvage the situation so that both the still-available, but scarce land and water is conserved.

As a volunteer in this environmental project, volunteers will prepare nursery beds, sow seeds, weed, trim, prune, and thin various indigenous tree species. The planted seedlings grown and nurtured by our volunteers are later distributed at no charge to villages in other parts of Tanzania . Depending upon the season, additional tasks may include: planting, collecting seeds, replanting, eliminating diseased trees, and inventorying fauna and flora
