Activities: general meeting, discussion on program itinerary, short introduction to Tanzania's culture, tradition, and safety issues, general Q & A sessions.
Service Projects: Arusha, Dar Es Salaam, Moshi (Days 2-23)
For the following days, participants will work in an orphanage - sharing their love and time with the needy children in various parts of Tanzania, teaching them basic conversational English and encouraging them to face the challenging world where English is becoming more and more of a necessity. In their free time, participants can hike to nearby bazaars and/or hillside villages; explore the beauty of mesmerizing Tanzania - gaining first-hand experiences of Tanzanian lifestyle, culture, and values.
Activities: Work in an orphanage, teach English to orphans, hike in the local bazaar or villages, explore local life, culture, and religions, and help the orphan children to lead a meaningful life
Tanzanian Safari and Excursions (Days 24-28)
After spending quality time with the destitute children of Tanzania , participants will then embark on a four-day tour, taking them through the highlights of the unrivalled parks of northern Tanzania while living in tents - recapturing the original spirit of the safari. This safari includes a walking safari through the Masai Land, the N'gorongoro Crater (one of the major attractions of Tanzania and one of the wonders of the natural world), the Serengeti (one of the best-known wildlife sanctuaries in the world hosting over 3 million large mammals); and Lake Manyara National Park (an ornithologists' paradise dually noted for its elusive tree-climbing lions).
Program itineraries are merely samples and may change to meet the needs of the volunteers as well as field conditions. This itinerary will be finalized on the start day of this program during orientation in Dar Es Salaam. |
