What Does Program Fee Cover??

Global Crossroad is proud to offer all of the services that our competitors offer at a very reduced price (nearly 30-60% less than our competitors). While volunteers are enjoying the services that we provide for them, we remain devoted to maintaining both the quality of the program and the safety of all volunteers involved. Here is a brief summary of the services that Global Crossroad offers:

More about room, food and transportation during the travel program

  • Food: The program fee covers two-three local meals a day - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - every day that the volunteer is enrolled in the program. Food will be healthy, nutritious, and locally available. We do not serve exotic foods.

  • Service of Group Leader: Travel part of the Summer Escapes program will be guided by 1-2 local group leaders for the whole 4 weeks program period. Volunteers will be completely guided/supported by experienced local leaders.

  • Accommodation: Depending upon the volunteers' particular country, location, and situation, volunteers will either stay with a host family, within a rented house, within a hostel, or within a cabin. We offer clean, comfortable living spaces, and volunteers will stay either in a single or shared room (depending on the host situation). Volunteers need to bring their own sleeping bags and other accessories.

  • Comprehensive insurance coverage: Global Crossroad offers the most comprehensive insurance coverage. This insurance will cover travel health insurance, medical evaluation, travel accident insurance, travel assistance, travel language, and third party liability coverage. Our insurance is one of the best insurance plans available in market for those interested in volunteering. Please contact us for details of insurance coverage. This insurance does not cover rescue services.

  • Airports receive and Transfer: Upon the receipt of the flight information, our country coordinator or other project staff will meet volunteers in the airport. The address and telephone number of the local contact hotel will be given before departure just in case volunteers miss our representative in the airport. Please make sure to send your flight information to both the USA office and the local coordinator's office.  In some countries, additional fee may apply for airport receive, drop, and first night of room/food

  • Support of Country coordinator: From the very beginning to the end of the project, Global Crossroad's country coordinator will help volunteers by supporting them and regularly visiting them.

  • Pre-departure information: Global Crossroad's comprehensive pre-departure booklet offers detailed information on issues that will concern volunteers, such as health, safety, and cultural shocks.

  • Other Services: Global Crossroad's staff, in USA and abroad, are always willing to support volunteers by answering all of the volunteers' questions and providing the best advice on fundraising and other issues, like health, culture, excursions, travel, safety, and special events.

  • Emergency support: Global Crossroad will provide you with 1-2 mobile telephone numbers of the USA staffs and local staffs for emergency support (these numbers are available for use at all times-24/7). Volunteers will also get contact details to pass along to your family before departure.

More about room, food and transportation during the travel program

The Global Crossroad Summer Escapes provides volunteers with many opportunities to explore the cultural and tourist attractions of the local country. Keep in mind, this is not a luxurious travel plan. Depending upon the situation of the local country, Global Crossroad offers the travel part of Summer Escapes with the help of a local tour operator or a local project staff. However, in all cases, Global Crossroad offers local food, public transportation like buses and trains, and rooms - staying in guesthouse, with a host family, or in an economy motel or back pack hotel (shared room). Global Crossroad does not offer exotic food (or food of personal choice), taxis or other luxurious transportation, and expensive hotel rooms during this travel period.
