Discover beautiful Honduras right in La Ceiba , a port town located in the North coast of the Honduras on the Caribbean Sea . La Ceiba is a lot more than a port city with lots of hospitality and charm. La Ceiba and the surrounding areas have so much to offer from botanical gardens (second largest in the world), the white sand beaches, the Bay Islands for scuba diving to the majestic Pico Bonito National Park . All this in the same spot! Get into the Caribbean lifestyle and enjoy it!!

Orientation, language, and cultural immersion (7 days)

Welcome at the La Ceiba airport followed by transport to host family. The next morning, join orientation sessions and discuss the program itinerary. Global Crossroad's Honduras coordinator will brief participants about Honduras ' past, its people, lifestyle, customs and geography. Orientation/briefing also covers safety, health issues, “do's and don'ts” of Honduras . At the end, join lunch and enjoy a typical Honduran Cousin platter! Real tasty!! Seafood lovers welcome!! Start Spanish language classes on the second day.

Activities: Spanish language classes, exploration of La Ceiba and its major tourist attractions, explore the nearby cafes and mall, butterfly museum, bbq party

Community Service Project: Work in Orphanage (14 days)

Work in orphanage in La Ceiba. For two weeks, work for local orphans and share your love and time with the needy children and teach them basic conversational English so that they can slowly develop the courage and confidence to face the challenging world where English is becoming more and more necessary. In your free time, hike to nearby bazaars, hillsides; explore the beauty of mesmerizing Honduras, gain first-hand experience of South American lifestyle, culture, and values.

Activities: Work in an orphanage, teach English to orphans, hike in the local bazaar or village, explore local life, culture, and religions, and help the orphan children to lead a meaningful life

ADVENTURE / ECOTOURISM TOURS (6 days)

Continue your exploration of beaitiful Honduras by joining a week-long adventure and eco-tours. Spend days marvelling at the cultures, scenery, Mayan ruins, bird life and beaches that offer up a dynamic mix of Honduran adventure. Remember that "manana" is not just Spanish for tomorrow, but also the local philosophy for taking it easy.

Activities: Hiking in the Pico Bonito National Park, rafting on the Rio Cangrejal, canopy zip-line tour, and mountain biking.
