Social Work Project

The primary goal of this project is to assist both the young and the impoverished by improving the structure and environment which these less fortunate citizens exist within. Some of the projects supported by this particular organization include: unemployment assistance, prisoner outreach, assisting ethnic minorities and immigrants as well as general community development and fair trade. This volunteer project in Spain is perfect for those interested in cooperating with and improving social and educational projects which assist less fortunate citizens.

Some of the duties performed by volunteers in this particular project include:

  • assisting in various administrative duties
  • helping marginalized children reach a higher education level
  • preventing school desertion
  • supporting children by helping with homework
  • organizing extracurricular activities for children in hopes of stimulating their interests.

NOTE: volunteers may focus their volunteer efforts in any of the following fields: homeless advocacy and assistance, social work, minority and ethnicity rights.

Program: Social Work
Start dates: 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month
Departure and End Point: (NONE)
Language Requirement: Beginner to Intermediate Level Spanish
Accommodations & Meals: Meals included, not accommodations (assistance provided in locating accommodations)
Activities: administrative duties, supporting children, encouraging education, organizing extracurricular activities
Working hours: 20/week
