Environmental Projects
Organic farming, watershed management, and sustainable development

This exciting project will involve volunteers in experimental and research work in sustainable development through organic farming and will offer a training program in alternative traditional medicine.

Work involves various agricultural activities: planting, watering, weeding, pruning, harvesting, and dairy. The project also involves non-formula and adult literacy education programs, field visits, and research and documentation work. Volunteers are also expected to actively participate in training programs.

Volunteers willing to participate in these projects will have work for the full program year. Work here will be challenging and rewarding and volunteers will have many opportunities to acquire knowledge in such interesting activities as rural development, Indian traditional medicines and practices, and organic farming. During training programs volunteers will have opportunities to meet grassroots workers and the directors of NGOs from many parts of India.

Volunteers have to make a strong effort to learn the local language so that they will understand the situation and participate actively.
