Global Crossroad collects personal information to enhance the program quality. We collect personal information mostly from inquiry from and on-line application form. We keep your privacy seriously and do all we can to protect it. Global Crossroad promises to keep all information about our clients totally private. We have been doing business on the Web since 2003, and we have never sold our Email lists, or any other client information. This means that information about your education, your career, your test results, hobbies, phone numbers, Email address, postal address, and interests will be kept totally confidential. Occasionally, we use your email address to pass the global crossroad newsletter, promotion materials, and event information (you can easily unsubscribe it by clicking a given link)

5. Cancellation and Refund Policy

5.1 Refund Policy and Considerations. Compared to similar companies that provide comparable comprehensive volunteer service opportunities, Global’s Program Fees are significantly less than the fees charged by other such companies and Participants are encouraged to compare Global’s Program Fees to the fees charged by other similar programs. As a consequence, Global operates on a much smaller profit margin and is therefore unable to provide and does not provide an open refund policy. It is solely Your decision to join our Program and no Applicant should participate in Our Programs if the Applicant feels that he or she is paying more for the services than Applicant will be receiving from Our Program. Global commits significant resources to arranging each Placement and Project. In most Host Countries, payments to Volunteer Coordinators, Country Coordinators, Project Staff and/or the Host Family are made well in advance to pay for their commitments and services. Global is unable to recover these advance payments so Global is required to adopt and enforce a strict policy against refunds, except as otherwise specifically provided in subsection 5.2 below.

5.2 Refund Restrictions. Your payment of the US$ 200.00 deposit to Global pursuant to subsection 4.2 is strictly non-refundable under any and all circumstances.

5.2.1 Cancellation 50 or More Days from Start of Project. If You notify Global in writing of a requested cancellation of a Project fifty (50) or more calendar days from the start of the Project Period, as set forth in the Term Sheet, Global agrees to refund to You seventy-five percent (75%) of the total Program Fee, excluding the nonrefundable deposit fee of $200.00 and any applicable bank charges.

5.2.2 Cancellation 35 to 49 Days from Start of Project. If You notify Global in writing of a requested cancellation of a Project 35 to 49 calendar days from the start of the Project Period, as set forth in the Term Sheet, Global agrees to refund to You sixty-five percent (65%) of the total Program Fee, excluding the nonrefundable deposit fee of $200.00 and any applicable bank charges.

5.2.3 Cancellation 15 to 34 Days from Start of Project. If You notify Global in writing of a requested cancellation of a Project 15 to 34 calendar days from the start of the Project Period, as set forth in the Term Sheet, Global agrees to refund to You fifty percent (50%) of the total Program Fee, excluding the nonrefundable application fee of $200.00 and any applicable.

5.2.4 Cancellation 14 or Less Days from Start of Project. If You notify Global in writing of a requested cancellation of a Project 14 or less calendar days from the start of the Project Period, as set forth in the Term Sheet, Global agrees to refund to You twenty-five percent (25%) of the total Program Fee, excluding the nonrefundable application fee of $200.00 and any applicable.

5.2.5 Cancellation On or After Start of Project Period. If You notify Global of a requested cancellation of a Project on or after the start of the Project Period, no refund whatsoever will be made to You under any conditions or for any reasons.

5.3 Cancellation of Project by Global. If Global cancels a Project before the start of the Project Period, Global will provide You a full refund of the applicable Program Fees. If Global cancels a Project after the start of the Project Period because of a sudden outbreak of disease, political instability, natural disaster or similar condition beyond Our control, Global will refund to You a portion of the Program Fees based upon the remaining weeks in the Project Period. The weekly rate ranges from $50-150 per week depending upon the particular Host Country, as further explained in the Term Sheet.

5.4 Cancellation of English Teaching Project. If either Global or the Applicant in the paid teaching program in China or Thailand cancels the teaching Project after the start of the Project Period for any reason, no refund whatsoever will be made to Applicant since there are no weekly fees in these two teaching programs.

5.5 Payment of Refunds. Any refunds payable hereunder by Global will be made to You within ninety (90) days from confirmation of cancellation.

Credit Card Security

Customers who buy through the Global crossroad online system are shopping on a secure server, which encrypts all of the customer's personal information including name, address and credit card number. Encryption ensures that no one can access or use personal information in an unauthorized manner. Our commerce system was developed in-house with security as its number one priority. This single entry point allows to maintain the tightest access control - eliminating (rather than closing) the backdoor. Global Crossroad has made an investment in protecting our clients' and customers' information utilizing the following technologies:

SSL (Secure Socket Layers)

Because we accept sensitive information from end-users such as passwords and credit card numbers, Global Crossroad’s site uses SSL. This logic encrypts the data being sent to the server from the browser using high-level encryption technology. Once the data is received from customers on the Global Crossroad Network, it may be required that the data be maintained for a certain period of time inside our private network. Encrypting the data means it cannot be viewed in plain text.
