Program Fee

Internship Program

What You Will Get For the Program Fee

Global Crossroad is proud to offer all of the services that our competitors offer at a very reduced price. While interns are enjoying the services that we provide for them, we remain devoted to maintaining both the quality of the program and the safety of all interns involved. Here is a brief summary of the services that Global Crossroad offers:

  • Personal Supervisor: With the help of a local country coordinator, Global Crossroad manages a personal supervisor to intern. In many cases, the local project director or our national co-ordinator serves as a supervisor. However, when the area of internship is very specific, Global Crossroad manages an expert of that area as a supervisor for intern. The personal supervisor will guide, supervision, and support interns during the entire duration of the project.

  • Food: The program fee covers three local meals a day - breakfast, lunch, and dinner - every day that the intern is enrolled in the program. Food will be healthy, nutritious, and locally available.

  • Accommodation: Depending upon the particular country, location, and situation, interns will either stay with a host family, within a rented house, within a hostel, or within a cabin. We offer clean, comfortable living spaces, and interns will stay either in a single or shared room (depending on the host situation). Interns need to bring their own sleeping bags and other accessories.

  • Comprehensive insurance coverage: Global Crossroad offers the most comprehensive insurance coverage. This insurance will cover travel health insurance, medical evaluation, travel accident insurance, travel assistance, travel language, and third party liability coverage. Our insurance is one of the best insurance plans available in market. Please click here for details of insurance coverage

  • Thoroughly researched and personalized projects: Global Crossroad offers the best projects that focus on matching the interests, skills, and experiences of interns with their intern work. Our local in-country coordinator explores the best local organizations and handpicks the perfect program for each intern. Interns will get detailed information of their project, including living arrangements and food, before departure.

  • Airport receive: Upon the receipt of the flight information, our country coordinator or other project staff will meet interns in the airport. The address and telephone number of the local contact hotel will be given before departure just in case interns miss our representative in the airport. Please make sure to send your flight information to both the USA office and the local coordinator's office.

  • In-country transportation: Global Crossroad manages one-way transportation to project. Interns will be responsible for their personal and return travel. We do not cover daily transportation from host family/hotel to the project.

  • Support of Country coordinator: From the very beginning to the end of the project, Global Crossroad's country coordinator will help interns by supporting them and regularly visiting them.

  • Pre-departure information: Global Crossroad's comprehensive pre-departure booklet offers detailed information on issues that will concern interns, such as health, safety, and cultural shocks.

  • Other Services: Global Crossroad's staff, in USA and abroad, are always willing to support interns by answering all of the interns' questions and providing the best advice on fundraising and other issues, like health, culture, excursions, travel, safety, and special events.

    - Emergency Support: Global Crossroad provides volunteers with a variety of contact information -including a 24/7 emergency line (usually mobile phones of local coordinators and US staff members) so that volunteers AND their family members can contact a member of our staff in the event of an emergency or crisis.

    - $100 Discount: All Global Crossroad Alumni are eligible for a $100 discount if return-enrolling in one of Global Crossroad's volunteer abroad programs.

    - Certificate of Appreciation/Completion: Upon completion of your respective service project, all participants receive a certificate illustrating their contributed time.

    - Fundraising Ideas: A number of Global Crossroad volunteers successfully raise funds for their volunteer abroad trip. We at Global Crossroad would be more than happy to provide you with ideas and documentation for fundraising (upon request).
