Project Summary

Visually document activities and events as you work as a photojournalist for a local tourism magazine. Enjoy your day as your lens captures professional quality pictures of beautiful scenery as you immerse in the enigmatic and vibrant culture of Cusco, Peru. This local tourism magazine believes that international volunteers produce a more interesting magazine, which is appealing to international travelers. The magazine is looking for support in research, writing, editing and photography. You will be assigned duties based on your skills and interests, as well as assisting with the layout, content decisions and production of this informative booklet.

Role of Volunteer

This small travel magazine in Cusco requires English copyeditors, photojournalists, research, writing and layout advice. This magazine is offered free to visiting tourists via hotels, restaurants and travel agencies. The magazine's audience is both domestic and international tourists and provides information on upcoming events and tours as well as travel ideas and details. The magazine format is half in English and half in Spanish and local journalists tend to have only an intermediate level of English fluency. Therefore, your native English knowledge is valuable to check grammar and spelling.
