Mightily-peaking mountains in the east and gently-sloping plains in the west, the eastern Asian island of Taiwan, also known as "Formosa" (Portuguese for 'beautiful island'), offers expansive examples of some of the most beautiful geography - both tropical and subtropical vegetation stretching from shore-to-shore - all condensed within an island of approximately 245 miles in length and 89 miles in width. With our Paid, English-Teaching Program in Taiwan, teachers can imagine life filled with fireworks, kung fu, red lanterns, karaoke, hot springs, pushcart vendors, tai chi, fried rice, cute kids and receptive students excited to learn English.
