Global Crossroad’s Orphanage Work in Mongolia Project allows volunteers to help children who grew up in the streets of Mongolia—orphans and youths who live in extreme poverty. The orphanage work project is highly challenging and rewarding, as you will be changing the lives of children who rarely receive opportunities to interact with other people. By sharing love and care with innocent, troubled, and forgotten children, you are offering an incomparable gift. Working with orphaned children demands patience, as these children's harsh past lives often exile them from society. Work in the orphanage includes:

• Playing with the children
• Teaching conversational English language skills
• Creating a joyful atmosphere for the children

Additional tasks in orphanage project may include teaching other subjects, painting, singing, and helping the staff to maintain proper discipline, organizing games, and other jobs as needed.

Many times, the orphans become even more secluded and troubled because other children tease and bully them. This volunteer project is difficult because most of the children are unmotivated learners who believe that education is simply not for them. As a volunteer, you will provide a positive introduction of education, possibility creating a lifelong desire for learning in the heart of each child you touch. Our volunteers are stationed to work in orphanages in and around the city of Ulaanbaatar.
