The coordinators responsible for the efficient running of this Lemur Conservation Project are part of an award-winning team, receiving a number of prestigious awards – Sir David Attenborough, The Royal Botanical Garden Kew (UK) and the Primate Center at Duke University (US). Furthermore, this innovative conservation project has won a number of coveted awards such as: the Sting and Trudie Styler Award for Conservation and Human Rights (one of the so-called ‘Green Oscars presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Anne); two (2) Flora and Fauna International Awards; four (4) Walt Disney Foundation Awards. Additionally, this organization has received funding from the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN – a Netherlands-based organization) for its Community Forest Management Project. Most recently, this project received a nod in the category of Best Volunteering Program at the First Choice Responsible Tourism Awards, presented in associated with www.responsibletravel.com , The Times, World Travel Market and Geographical Magazine. |
