Day 1: Airport reception and transfer to the project

Day 2: Meet the project engineer and coordinators. Orientation and self introduction to identify those with specialized skills. First aid training. Discuss the ways to disburse special funds sent over with you (if necessary)

Day 3-13: Full days of construction work with two full days off (the off days will be informed during orientation)

Day 14: Departure for airport in Colombo

Daily Work Schedule:

Work schedules vary depending on the project site.

Schedule 1
Work: 7:30–11:30 a.m.; Lunch: 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.; Finish at 3:30 p.m.

Schedule 2
Work: 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.; Lunch: 12:30–1:30 p.m.; Finish at 4:30 p.m.

Lunch break will be either at the work site or at a nearby beach

Note: A full moon denotes no work in Sri Lanka .

Volunteers will have spare time to visit local villages and play with village children and orphans. For more information on the location of various orphanages and relief camps, please speak to your project coordinator when you arrive in Galle . You may want to bring some gifts for these children.
