Day 1: Arrival in Cusco , Peru and time to settle in and rest.
Day 2: Early departure by bus for the village of Oropesa, and orientation at project site. Project work begins.
Day 3-6: Work continues on the project. As a volunteer, you will be helping to build a home for orphaned children. The work includes digging, removing dirt, carrying bricks, mixing cement, plastering, cleaning, and various other needs related to construction. The construction of La Casa Azul will be achieved over 6 different phases. This means that the nature of the work may vary as the construction work progresses.
Working hours are usually about 5 hours each day. Volunteers normally work 9am – 12pm and 3pm – 5pm, though this may vary. Day 7: Full day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where volunteers will enjoy the villages, archaeological sites, and local markets such as Pisac, Urubamba , Ollantaytambo, and Chincheros.
Day 8: Farewell to the project staff and receive your certificate of participation.
The above itinerary is just an example. The actual itinerary is subject to change based on weather conditions, availability of materials and equipment, and project phases.
