Global Crossroad is planning to expand “Humanitarian Trip Program” in various developing countries. The main goal of this program is to support poor communities and orphans especially by constructing and renovating orphanages/schools. Unlike other volunteer programs, we will carry out a solid project where the outcomes will be visible at the completion of the project.

How does it work?

Humanitarian trip will be one /two week program. We will send a small group of volunteers to carry out the projects. Global Crossroad will collect some funds necessary to run the project from the program fee of volunteers. The construction or renovation project can be completed in one or many phases depending on the size of the project. The total donation to a project depends on the number of volunteers signing up for the program. However, we expect to donate $3000-4000 per trip/phase to purchase materials for the project. This money should be enough to carry out a small construction/renovation project.

Local involvement/contributions

We expect equal participation of local partners in the construction project. In many cases, it would be difficult for the local partners to contribute financially. But, the local partners can make their contribution to the project through various ways, like by offering labors, buying some project materials, organizing cultural programs for volunteers, arranging room/food for volunteers, inviting volunteers to visit their village to share their culture and traditions, etc. The local community participation and contribution is a must in this project.
