Conservation in Ghana
Start dates:
1st and 3rd Mondays of each month
Arrival and Departure: Kotoka International airport, Accra

Room and board: Host family and local food three times a day
Activities: Physical works related to nursery
Working Hours: 25-35 hours per week


Adidwan is a small peasant farming community in the sekyere west District of Ashanti region of Ghana. It is located 15 miles away from Asante Mampong and 9 miles away from Ejura. There is a big and colourful market held on each Mondays at Ejura and also there is another one held on Wednesdays at Asante Mampong.

Conservation Ghana project aims to support the conservation efforts of local community by distributing tree seedling of local important. Work is physically demanding. Works include: collecting tree seeds, filling of the nursery bags with soil, nursing of the seeds, shading and watering of seeds and seedlings, tree planting and fencing etc.

Proposed Daily Dairy of Project

Volunteers wake up at 6:30am
Work begins at 7:00am and break for breakfast at 9:00am.
Go back to work at 10:00am and close at 11am, and snack will be served.

Lunch: 1:00pm
HIV AIDS education: 2:00pm – 3:00pm
Volunteers relax, have conversation among themselves, Reading of story books, make friends etc. from 3:00pm-5: 30pm.
5:30pm.-Dinner ready for volunteers.
7:00pm.
