Christmas in Costa Rica would be a perfect choice if you are looking for a new way to celebrate Christmas this year. Christmas is a colorful season but in Costa Rica , this season comes with even more special colors. The portal of the home is decorated with bright tropical flowers, wild orchids, wreaths, cypress leaves, and red berries. These scenes are the outcome of family projects that take weeks to set up and can even fill up an entire room in the house. The charms of Christmas continue throughout December and January with fiestas, parades, rodeos, choral and dance festivals, street fairs, and bull runs. The highlights of these fiestas include a horseback parade, known as the Tope.
As a participant, you will enjoy the splendor of the season, explore the richness of Costa Rican culture, and experience the wonders of local life. Our Christmas in Costa Rica program also combines home stay, Spanish lesson (20 hours a week), and excursion to Heredia Central Market, different Pasitos, Costa Rican Christmas Bull Runs, Christmas Fireworks, Zapote - Costa Rican Biggest Christmas Fair, Light Parade, Tope (Horseback Parade), Carnival, Avenidazo (a walk in San Jose downtown for a Confetti Party, lots of fun!) and a Coffee Tour. The trip offers you a rare opportunity to celebrate Christmas in a unique way.
