Salary and Benefits

  • $150 (US)/month
  • 3 meals a day in a local host family (find more about host family expectation)
  • Round-trip bus transportation from Santiago to assigned teaching site
  • Help in obtaining a temporary residence visa
  • Orientation: two-week training in Santiago and a subsequent one-week of local training

Orientation training will review: Chilean education system and school visits, Chilean culture, Teaching English as a Foreign Language training (TEFL), and a Spanish language course. During orientation, you will be provided with accommodations, food, and transportation. The orientation program also covers recreational activities and cultural events

The program fee does not cover

  • Reciprocity fees at Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport in Santiago Chile (Canada US$132, USA- US$100, Australia $56, there are no reciprocity fees for nationals of UK, Ireland, South Africa, and New Zealand)
  • Fee for 1-year temporary visa ( Canada $176, UK $481, Australia US$56, New Zealand US$460; NO temporary residence fee for US and Ireland citizens)
  • International airfare from home country to Chile
  • Mandatory health, accident and travel insurance
  • Personal expenses and documentation (passport, visa, entrance reciprocity fee)

Application Process

First Step : Meet the basic eligibility requirements
Second Step : Submit an application with the following information (download application or apply online)

  • Resume or CV
  • Letter of Motivation/Application
  • Letter to host family (in Spanish)
  • One reference
  • Two photos (one headshot and one informal photo (taken with friends or family)

Upon receiving your application with the above-motioned documents, Global Crossroad's Chilean Coordinator will arrange a telephone interview to determine your Spanish level, expectations, and experience. Applicants will be contacted once the selection process is completed.
