This is a small mixed-gender school for deaf students. The school has about 100 students, classified in 5 levels between the age group of 6 to 15. There are 15 to 20 students per class, and 10 teachers. The school also organizes workshops for people between 15 to 23 years of age. Volunteer can be a class assistant of math, literature, science, history, sports, music, dance, and also be involved in various workshops like cooking, dressmaking, cosmetology, and carpentry. The project will be closed during July, December and January. Sometimes the school gets local volunteers from universities.
Volunteer in Bolivia school for deaf people will work as a class and workshop assistant with special pupils, prepare games and activities to help students in their learning process. Volunteers sometimes get their own classes too. Volunteers work 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday. All the required textbooks will be provided by the school. Volunteers can bring games to share with the school children.
Volunteers must learn as much Spanish as possible before arriving in Bolivia. The volunteers can teach and experiment with their other skills in the school as well.
