Children project in Bolivia supports nearly 400 kids between the age group of 1-18, including the newly born infants. The home has a day nursery, a school, mother institution, a house for teenage girls/boys, a baking home, carpentry, and a dress making business. The home has a separate branch in San Jose de Chiquitos. The project funds come from donations and from revenue generated from baking, carpentry and dressmaking businesses.
Volunteer in the children home supports the children mostly in their education including teaching English and helping with their
homework. Volunteer can also work on the other ongoing projects such as music, baking and carpentry. Volunteer work 2-3 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. Volunteer can also join special activities of the children home during the weekends. The project has magazines, textbooks, audio and video equipments, and a photocopier. Volunteer may bring books and toys as a donation for the kids.
Knowledge of first aid would be useful. Also, volunteer should try to learn as much Spanish as possible before leaving for Bolivia.
