Under the program of Bolivia volunteers, Cochabamba Botanical Garden is a project that works on conservation and exhibition of floral and forest diversity of Cochabamba. Spread in an area of 4 hectares of land, it is a natural herbarium with most of Bolivian species. The main activities for the volunteers are to make scientific and technical investigation of Bolivian forest, taxonomic collection and classification of unique floral and forest species to guarantee their perpetual existence; promote the recreation by a programmatic and systematic orientation of visitors with the target of environmental education.
Most of schools, universities and other institutions have shown their great interest in this project by including green spaces into their own work programs. The Botanical Garden of Cochabamba gives them environmental education by organizing several events for students and all kind of institutions. Volunteers will “work on conservation of nature creation” for 4 hours daily for 5/6 days a week.
